Väderstad present at Green Week 2024

Väderstad, one of the world’s leading companies in tillage, seeding and planting, joined by 16 other companies in the agricultural sector took part in last weeks’ exhibition Green Week in Berlin. The goal was to demonstrate the importance of new innovations in agriculture, to help accelerate the transition to a more sustainable and efficient agriculture.

In the Innovationsforum Landtechnik stand Väderstad demonstrated our innovation for crop establishment – Proceed. By being able to place each seed with millimeter precision, Proceed is able to drastically lower the seed rate and thus produce more output from less input. Field trials show significant improvement in yield levels, seed rates, while reducing the need for tillage, chemical treatments as well as use of fertilizers.

– It’s important for us to be here, not to market our products but to show that the leading companies in the agricultural sector stand united and jointly discusses with decision makers to make quicker progress in one of our time’s most important questions. We have had a very positive week here in Berlin, says Elin Iseskog, Director Sustainability at Väderstad.

Green Week 2024 had almost 300 000 visitors. Some of them were politicians as around 70 ministers of agriculture met to discuss the future of agriculture, and what role new solutions and modern technology can have for the agriculture of tomorrow.

Väderstad’s stand was visited by many politicians, the German chancellor Olaf Scholz who discussed sustainable farming with the participants and got a demonstration of one of Väderstad’s innovations that can help contribute towards a more sustainable future.

Also present was Dan Ericsson, Swedish State Secretary to the Minister for Rural Affairs.

– Väderstad has always meant and will always mean a lot for Swedish agriculture. The company has always been at the forefront in terms of environment and climate and will make agriculture even smarter with its innovations. I’m very happy to see a Swedish company present at such an important event as the Green Week, says Dan Ericsson.

It was a very eventful week in Berlin with lots of fruitful discussions with politicians, about the need for supporting policy measures at both national and EU levels – to help reach an increased efficiency for farmers leading to greater possibilities to produce more food for the world’s growing population.
