At Väderstad we innovate with a purpose. To simplify work and improve the results for farmers all over the world. Väderstad started with an everyday challenge for a farming couple on their family farm. A challenge that was met with a new way of thinking, a vision of durability, better quality and improved results. Through the years Väderstad has gone from a family farm to a global company but the foundation remains the same. We continue to challenge old truths and during this journey we have taken some major steps with ground-breaking innovations that has changed agriculture forever. Right now, our role is more important than ever. But we need more people. People that never give up.
Tempo – the world record holder
In 2012 Väderstad launched Tempo, a new generation of planters that provide unmatched precision at double the speed compared to a conventional seed drill. By singulating each seed before shooting them into the soil with pressurised air, Tempo gives farmers millimeter precision both in seeding depth and space between each seed. In 2017 Tempo set a new world record by planting 502 hectares of corn in 24 hours. A record that still stands today.
SeedEye a technological leap for increased precision
Väderstad’s awarded SeedEye system gives the farmer full control of the seeding. Sensors count every seed that passes through each seed tube, which means that the farmer in a very easy way can control how many seeds end up in each square meter of a field. SeedEye also monitors if a seed tube is blocked, giving an instant alert to the tractor driver.
CrossCutter Disc opened a new segment
When introduced in 2017, our CrossCutter Disc created a new segment called ultra-shallow tillage. With its unique shape, the CrossCutter Disc easily cuts through crop residues while maintaining a working depth of only 2-3 centimeters. This way of shallow cultivation gives great agronomic benefits to the farm, conserves valuable ground moisture in the soil - while reducing the fuel used by the tractor.

Where are we in the world?
Väderstad is family-owned and our headquarter remains where everything started in Väderstad, Sweden. Today we are operative in 40 countries all over the world with 16 fully owned subsidiaries. In total we have four production sites: two in Sweden, one in Väderstad and one in Överum, and two in North America, one in Langbank, Canada and one in North Dakota, USA.
