Tillage practices

There are a large number of more or less well defined tillage systems for soil preparation and crop establishment. A common approach is to group these according to whether or not they involve multiple tillage operations, giving two main groups; conventional and minimum tillage. A third main group that is generally recognized is direct seeding, where the seed drill is the only tillage implement used.
