Extend Series by BTT
Farmers can now order air seeders equipped with the Extend Series knives by BTT. They provide accurate seed and fertilizer placement and reliable wear performance. The Extend series by BTT - Inline Side Band (ISB) seed knives have a hardsurfacing treatment on the upper face behind the carbide, while the Extend series by BTT fertilizer knives are fortified with MAX LIFETM treatment on the lower edge, back, and bottom for superior strength and longevity.

Wing fold improvement on XL toolbars
The updated wing fold system on XL toolbars now features larger diameter cylinders for center and outer wing folds and larger pivot pin on center cylinders.
These upgrades deliver faster and smoother folding, even when a wider array of aftermarket options has been installed. By reducing pressure spikes, the system improves reliability and helps protect hydraulic components.

Root development
Positioning the seed in firm, moist soil guarantees the radicle immediate and continuous access to moisture. The fine tilth adjacent to the seed facilitates the development of other roots, enabling them to swiftly extend towards the fertilizer band. This promotes rapid emergence and vigorous growth of the young plant.

Quick warm-up
For seed growth to begin, the seed furrow must reach the right temperature. The furrow created by the opener functions similarly to strip tillage, warming up faster than the surrounding soil and speeding up germination. Higher temperatures also enhance fertilizer uptake and accelerate mineralisation, further promoting plant growth. Additionally, the stubble helps prevent wind from cooling the surface.

Promotes growth
The flat-faced design of the knives creates fine tilth, ensuring optimal seed-to-soil contact. Additionally, the knives form an open sidewall and furrow bottom free from compaction or smearing, promoting air and moisture exchange as well as root development. Both the fertilizer and seed are placed on uncultivated soil, providing excellent access to capillary water, which ensures rapid seed swelling.

The fertilizer knife features a pronounced forward angle, functioning similarly to a cultivator point but without the mixing properties. It elevates moist soil and shifts larger clods aside, leaving fine tilth in the seed slot. Its ability to penetrate soil ensures maximum depth with minimal weight, conserving diesel.

The seed knife, angled backward, carves a shelf from the sidewall and dresses it with fine tilth. Soil covers the fertilizer before the seed is placed on the shelf, ensuring perfect separation. This barrier prevents fertilizer burn and enhances seed-to-soil contact for rapid germination. The lateral separation ensures seeds are not placed directly on top of the fertilizer, avoiding broken capillarity and moisture competition. The short distance allows roots quick access to nutrients.

The working depth of the Seed Hawk opener is maintained by the packer wheel, which follows the ground surface directly behind the fertilizer and seed knives. The hydraulic cylinder applies downforce on the wheel, resulting in up to 150 kg of pressure. Adjustable packing pressure ensures excellent results in any soil condition. The Seed Hawk opener consistently maintains its selected working depth, resulting in an evenly maturing crop every time.

The Seed Hawk knives have been specifically designed to prevent hair pinning and/or mixing. Therefore, the seed is granted a clean seed slot free of residues.

Single Side Band knife
The Single Side Band Knife is the leader in precision seed and fertilizer placement. The offset knives cut shallow, separate trenches for seed and fertilizer, placing seed on undisturbed soil and fertilizer in the best position for superior uptake, while also protecting seedlings. The result is quicker germination and more even emergence in all soil conditions.
Available in 10” (25.4 cm) or 12” (30.5 cm) row spacing.

Inline Side Band knife
The Inline Side Band knives achieve side band placement with an inline knife design. The seed knife cuts a separate shallow trench where an angled seed tube is used to place the seed 2 in (5 cm) away from and 0.75 in (1.9 cm) above the fertilizer.
Now featuring the new Extend series by BTT seed and fertilizer knives, the new inline design allows for better soil flow and performance in residues, resulting in a smoother field finish. The new inline system allows the grower to easily switch from Side Band to Twin Row placement if desired.
Available in 10 in (25.4 cm) or 12 in (30.5 cm) row spacing.

Twin Wing knife
If narrower spacing is desired, growers have the option to equip their 12” (30.5 cm) toolbars with twin wing openers to create 9” (22.9 cm) of spacing between seeded rows. The design ensures that two distinct rows emerge, while providing proper separation of seed and fertilizer. The wider shank distribution improves residue clearance, and tighter row spacing increases seed bed use, making the emerging crop a better competitor for weeds.
Available in 12” (30.5 cm) row spacing, creating 9” (22.9 cm) rows.
Consistent seed depth with contour following
Seed Hawk 40-84 models come in 5- or 7-plex frame sections, allowing them to follow the contours of the land independently by pivoting at the frame. With a contour-following range of 18” (46 cm), the independent openers deliver consistent seed depth, regardless of the terrain.
By controlling each row individually, each seed is granted the same optimal conditions for growth. Consistent contour-following ability is crucial in no-till operations where variable field conditions are present. The Seed Hawk opener excels in this area.
Eliminate overlap with Sectional Control Technology™
Sectional control, combined with an independent GPS system, prevents overlap, reduces input costs, and minimises ground disturbance. It manages meters and openers to halt product flow and lift openers on previously seeded ground, maintaining precise placement.
SCTx with Turn Compensation includes an additional GPS receiver on the tractor for enhanced capabilities. This enables more complex manoeuvres and precise control of air drill operations.
Wireless blockage monitoring
Now you can watch for blockages from the cab as the blockage system monitors product flow on your Seed Hawk seeding system. If a blockage is detected, it immediately delivers quick, accurate notification of the exact location to your iCon wireless control system.
Product leaving the manifold bounces off a stainless-steel membrane as it enters the seed or fertilizer run, creating a small sound wave. If there is any change in the sound wave, it is picked up by acoustic sensors that detect the blockage to trigger audio and visual alerts on your tablet.
When a blockage location is identified, you can take your tablet out of the tractor cab and carry it with you as you locate the blockage and fix the issue. No more misses.
Stainless steel primary lines
Seed Hawk 70-84 Air Drills are now updated with Stainless steel primary lines. Stainless steel ensures growers the best possible experience, ensuring years of trouble free operation with reduced maintenance. Stainless steel center section is not included on tow-between versions of the Seed Hawk 70-84.

Product concept
Zone 1 – Fertilizer placement
The first knife aerates and warms the soil, placing the fertilizer. It runs deeper than the seed knife, bringing up moist soil from below and providing the seed with greater moisture access at this early, critical growth stage.
