A consistent seedbed provides a smooth planter ride, which is important for achieving proper seed depth, especially when planting at higher speeds. It also ensures each seed is planted in the exact same soil conditions so that they all emerge together. The shank pattern and finishing attachments on the Wil-Rich QX2 provide the ideal setup for creating the optimal seedbed.
Some granular herbicides must be incorporated at shallow depths to work effectively. Similarly, fertilizers applied on the soil surface require incorporation to allow greater accessibility to plant roots, while reducing the risk of runoff. The hitch design, gauge wheels, and single-point depth control on the Wil-Rich QX2 can help incorporate the herbicides and fertilizers at precise depths.
To achieve consistent results with a field cultivator, no strip of soil should be left untouched. However, if the shanks are spaced too closely together, the cultivator can plug up or create windrows of residue. That’s why Wil-Rich engineered a split-the-middle shank pattern on the field cultivator. Shanks on each rank work in the middle of the untilled area left by the preceding shanks. This ensures consistent tillage across the width of the implement without plugging or windrowing issues.
A single-spring tine option is ideal for finer tillage performance. It provides excellent ground following capabilities with 68 kg (150 lbs) of trip pressure, which can be adjusted up to 89.8 kg (198 lbs) for slightly deeper penetration.
The double-spring option is a better choice for tougher ground conditions. It offers a pre-set downforce of 136 kg (300 lbs), which can be adjusted up to 181.4 kg (400 lbs). The extra down pressure ensures better penetration in hard-packed soil and is often used behind the tractor wheel tracks to remove compaction.

The Wil-Rich QX2 has been meticulously engineered with lighter frames, allowing earlier access to your fields, even in challenging wet conditions.
The reliable A-hitch is the standard hitch style on the Wil-Rich QX2. It includes a weight transfer kit, which shifts weight onto the hitch to improve towing stability.
The T-hitch option allows for a tighter turning radius, since the narrower profile provides extra clearance between the hitch and rear tractor wheels. Like the A-hitch, it has a weight transfer kit that shifts weight onto the hitch for improved towing stability.
The T-hitch is only available for five-section models with a 4 m mainframe.

An open design of the caster gauge wheels on the Wil-Rich QX2 helps prevent them from negatively affecting tillage performance. As a result, operators experience minimized plugging with greater stability both in the field and on the road. Additionally, they offer easy maintenance, so more time can be spent in the field.
Need to adjust the tillage depth on the fly? Single-point depth control allows operators to adjust the working depth for the entire implement from a single location, instead of having to make manual adjustments at each gauge wheel. This feature can significantly reduce the time spent on adjusting tillage depth. Furthermore, it increases the likelihood that operators will make the necessary adjustments to attain the desired tillage outcomes.
Four finishing attachment options are available to accommodate a variety of field conditions and personal preferences. Each option offers unique benefits in helping create the ideal seedbed.
The Wil-Rich QX2 is designed to maintain consistent tillage depth, despite fluctuations in the ground contour. This is made possible through the floating hitch, which pivots freely at the implement to help the field cultivator follow uneven terrain. Two floating hitch styles are available on the QX2 to meet the needs of different farming operations: an A-hitch and a T-hitch.
The main difference between the QX2 and XL2 models is the hitch type. XL2 models are equipped with the field-proven, time-tested level lift hitch, which allows weight transfer to the tractor. Designed for level field conditions, this hitch type creates a planter-ready seedbed.
The five ranks of shanks offer an effective spacing of 17 cm (7 in). This configuration results in consistent tillage across the width of the machine for incorporating fertilizer or herbicides, removing weeds, preparing a seedbed, or all of the above.

Three rows of 1.1 x 45.7 cm (7/16 x 18 in) tines level the soil profile and distribute residue, while the basket reduces clod size and firms the seedbed. It provides plant residue distribution during stubble cultivation and operates in wet conditions. Basket pressures are adjustable and range up to 45.4 kg (100 lbs) per ft. A hydraulic lift option is available for the basket on all 4 m (13 ft) main frame Wil-Rich QX2 and XL2 field cultivators. It gives operators the ability to lift the rolling basket when it is not desirable to use it, such as when conditions are muddy or there’s a wet spot in the field.

4-Bar Coil Tine Harrows
The 1.1 x 45.7 cm (7/16 x 18 in) tines harrows help distribute residue, break up small clods, and level the soil profile, helping to create a perfect, planter-ready seedbed. Front to rear levelness and tine pitch are easily adjusted to achieve the desired field finish. The four-bar harrow offers 7.6 cm (3 in) spacing.
5-Bar Spike Tooth Harrow
Five bars of 1.9 square x 27.9 cm (0.75 square x 11 in) spike teeth harrow drag behind the field cultivator to create a smooth, level field finish. They level residue and reduce clod size with increased throughflow, providing the most intensive clod crushing and surface levelling. When levelling mouldboard ploughing, they form a field surface that helps prevent evaporation.
