As we continue to grow, Väderstad’s vision remains the same, to be the world’s leading partner for outstanding emergence. In pursuit of this vision, we invest in our people and the communities in which we operate. We continually seek ways to improve productivity and sustainability for farmers, promote the involvement of young farmers, and enhance the health and wellbeing of the communities in which we live and work.

Our dealers are also at the heart of their communities, and we continually seek ways to collaborate with them on projects that align with our values.

We were delighted when we got the opportunity to support an important and worthwhile cause in conjunction with Young’s Equipment, one of our valued dealers. Young’s Equipment has been in close touch with the Hospitals of Regina Foundation over the years, looking for opportunities to work together. Earlier this year, the Hospital of Regina Foundations approached Young’s Equipment with the opportunity to sponsor a transport initiative that will provide transportation for babies outside of the Regina area to provide access to the services of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Regina.

Young’s Equipment reached out to their industry partners to gauge support for the initiative. For Väderstad, this was the perfect way to help provide essential services to families in the areas where we live and work. Väderstad, MacDon Industries Ltd. and Farm Credit Canada were proud to partner with Young’s Equipment in making a substantial donation, in the amount of $300,000, to the Hospitals of Regina Foundation.

“We are just extremely fortunate to work with partners like Väderstad, to be involved in an industry like agriculture which provides opportunities to build such strong relationships and to have been successful enough to be in a position to contribute to such an important cause. The care that the NICU provides is obviously something that you hope you never need to see or use, but when you do need it, it’s so amazing to have it. To be able to play even a small role in expanding access to these services for rural Saskatchewan and the communities where we all live is something we’re extremely proud of,” says Sean Young, Assistant General Manager, Young’s Equipment.

The cheque presentation occurred on Tuesday, November 23rd, at the 50th Annual Canadian Western Agribition. In attendance for the presentation were Dino Sophocleous and Lisa Green of Hospitals of Regina Foundation, Sean Young of Young’s Equipment, Nigel Jones and Philip Korczak from Väderstad, and Carla Warnyca of Farm Credit Canada.

“We are delighted to support such an important and worthwhile cause, that supports our values, and will have a significant impact for families in many of the communities in which we operate”, says Nigel Jones, Vice President OtD North America, Väderstad.
