2020s – Increased demand and US expansion

Between 2020 and 2023, Väderstad more than doubled its sales from 3.4 BSEK in FY20 to 7 BSEK in FY23. We have also continued our expansion, entering the US market with the 2021 acquisition of Väderstad Inc. in Wahpeton, North Dakota.

Väderstad Components expanding

Väderstad Components in Överum has expanded its factory and production line for the past two years to meet the growing demand for genuine parts. The factory has been rebuilt and expanded by an additional 2,000 m². The company manufactures key wear parts for Väderstad's agricultural machinery and employs more than 50 people. The manufacturing process is automated using high-tech machinery and advanced robotics.

Proceed launches to the world

In 2021, we showcased our latest innovation, Proceed. Proceed represents a significant technological leap, capable of placing many seeds with perfect precision – enabling farmers to achieve more output from less input. Proceed has since won several awards, most notably Farm Machine 2022 and Farm Machine 2023. Production of Proceed starts in 2025.

Seed Hawk celebrates 30 years

The Seed Hawk concept, created in 1991, has since been a leader in zero-till and min-till farming practices. In 2006, Väderstad acquired 49% of the Canadian company and the remainder in 2013. In 2017, the company was renamed Väderstad Industries Inc. and continues to gain ground among Canadian farmers, changing the face of agriculture with its innovative Seed Hawk opener assembly, Sectional Control Technology, the iCon Wireless Control System, and Fenix III metering.

Agritechnica 2023 saw the world premiere of Seed Hawk 600-900C, built on the same well-proven concept but designed specifically for the European and international markets.

Väderstad enters the US market

In May 2021, Väderstad bought 100 percent of AGCO-Amity JV LLC (AAJV), a company that manufactured, designed, and supported the Wil-Rich, Wishek, and Concord product brands with 270 dealers worldwide, most of them in the US. With its manufacturing plant in Wahpeton, North Dakota, AAJV was fully integrated into Väderstad's growing global group of companies under the company name Vaderstad Inc.

Väderstad acquires inter-row cultivators

In February 2023, Väderstad acquired the inter-row cultivator segment from the Danish company Thyregod. The new product family in tillage was rebranded to Väderstad’s colours and named Extract.

Prescription map tillage

During a press event in Austria in September 2023, Väderstad showcased our first-ever cultivator prepared for pairing with an autonomous tractor. With the help of Väderstad’s E-services, TopDown and Opus can use prescription map tillage, controlling machine settings such as working depth or intensity of the discs, tines, levellers, or packer automatically on the go using a field map. Väderstad TopDown with E-Control was also awarded as Farm Machine 2024 in the tillage category.
