The Tempo row unit

For more than 15 years, Väderstad has set the global benchmark for high‑speed planting precision. The latest Tempo row unit continues this proven legacy.

It has been completely redesigned with a clear focus on improving agronomic precision and the user experience. The result is consistent and reliable field performance at high working speeds, building on proven success in the field.

Enhanced precision control

Refined disc angles and cab-controlled depth settings take already high planting accuracy to the next level.

Smarter, faster handling

Redesigned seed meters and hoppers make crop changes and maintenance quicker and more intuitive than ever before.

Stronger by design

Improved durability, upgraded electronics and full model compatibility ensure the new row unit is ready for every challenge.

The next generation of agronomic precision

The row unit is the heart of the planter and the key to performance in the field. Tempo has already set the global benchmark for high-speed planting precision. With this new row unit, we are taking that legacy even further. This is not just an upgrade. It is a complete redesign. We returned to the drawing board to create a row unit that redefines agronomic precision, enhances user experience and boosts field performance.

 Speed and precision without compromise

Meet the people who changed the planter game - from engineering to world record performance. Väderstad Tempo was built to challenge a long-standing compromise: either plant fast or plant precisely. In this video, we follow the development journey - from the first bold concept in the 90s to overpressure innovation, hard testing, and the 24-hour world record that helped define a new standard for precision planting at speed.

A well‑defined seed furrow

The shape of the furrow plays an important role in germination and early crop development. Tempo is designed to open a precise, well‑defined furrow and deliver the seed accurately to the bottom of it, creating stable conditions from the very start.

With the PowerShoot system, the seed tube is kept thin to support controlled and accurate seed delivery. Combined with improved disc angles, the row unit opens a narrower seed slot with less soil displacement. This helps reduce sidewall compaction and lowers the risk of dry topsoil falling back into the furrow.

Accurate depth control supports consistent placement across the field, even when working at higher speeds. The well‑defined furrow is easy to close and provides favourable conditions for early root development, supporting even emergence and crop establishment.
