In February earlier this year, Väderstad announced the acquisition of the full product range of inter-row cultivators from the Danish company Thyregod. The acquisition included all intellectual property rights to the inter-row cultivator product area from the Danish company.
The new product family of inter-row cultivators has been named Extract and painted in Väderstads traditional red, yellow, and black colours. It will initially be sold in two models: the trailed Extract L 16-48 and the mounted Extract V 8-36. Depending on model, both Extract L and Extract V will be available with row spacing of 225, 250, 450, 500 and 750mm.
– The Extract family of inter-row cultivators is a perfect match to our current portfolio of Tempo planters, to our new technologies for seeding with the upcoming Proceed concept and for future sustainable and efficient farming. With uncertainty regarding regulations for certain pesticides, there is a demand from the market for a machine that can perform mechanical weed control between plant rows. Väderstad Extract has a high main frame together with a patented solution for lifting the row units – which both avoids doing damage to the plants while also enabling inter-row cultivation for a longer period in terms of plant height. Extract L also has a unique frame solution, where it can hold two frames into one main frame – which increases the efficiency and saves a pass for the farmer.
