The Wil-Rich XL2 field cultivator is designed to meet the demands of level field conditions, delivering a smooth, planter-ready seedbed. As an industry leader in secondary tillage, the XL2’s level lift hitch ensures optimal weight transfer to the tractor, providing stability and efficiency for high-speed planting.
The Wil-Rich XL2 ensures comprehensive tillage, making it an excellent tool for mechanically eliminating weeds and reducing reliance on herbicides.
The Wil-Rich XL2 prepares the ground for high yields by creating an ideal seedbed, which is crucial for planter performance and uniform emergence.
Certain herbicides and fertilizers need to be incorporated at consistent depths to be most effective. The Wil-Rich XL2 design ensures thorough mixing and precise depth control for optimal results.
A secondary tillage pass can be crucial for achieving a leveled surface, smooth operation of the sowing unit, and maximum effectiveness of soil herbicides. It also aids in creating an ideal seedbed, ensuring uniform emergence, and controlling weed seedlings to prevent interspecific competition. Give your crop the best chance to thrive while minimizing risks with the Wil-Rich XL2 field cultivator.
Tillage plays a crucial role in weed management, especially with the rise in herbicide resistance. The Wil-Rich XL2 excels at weed control, thanks to its split-the-middle tine pattern. This design ensures soil is tilled uniformly across the width of the implement, minimizing escapes and providing a clean seedbed to start the season.

A consistent seedbed provides a smooth planter ride, which is important for achieving proper seed depth, especially when planting at higher speeds. It also ensures each seed is planted in the exact same soil conditions so that they all emerge together. The tine pattern and finishing attachments on the Wil-Rich XL2 provide the ideal setup for creating the optimal seedbed.
Some granular herbicides must be incorporated at shallow depths to work effectively. Similarly, fertilizers applied on the soil surface require incorporation to allow greater accessibility to plant roots, while reducing the risk of runoff. The hitch design, gauge wheels, and single-point depth control on the Wil-Rich XL2 can help incorporate the herbicides and fertilizers at precise depths.
Prepare a seedbed, mechanically control weeds, and incorporate fertilizer or herbicides with the Wil-Rich XL2 field cultivator. It’s engineered to produce a consistent field finish, so you can grow a more uniform crop. The Wil-Rich design has proven itself over many years of use, becoming known as the industry standard in field cultivators. The reliable A-hitch is the standard hitch style on the XL2 field cultivator. It includes a weight transfer kit, which shifts weight onto the hitch to improve towing stability.
To achieve consistent results with a field cultivator, no strip of soil should be left untouched. However, if the shanks are spaced too closely together, the cultivator can plug up or create windrows of residue. That’s why Wil-Rich engineered a split-the-middle shank pattern on the field cultivator. Shanks on each rank work in the middle of the untilled area left by the preceding shanks. This ensures consistent tillage across the width of the implement without plugging or windrowing issues.
The single spring tine option is perfect for shallower working depths and achieving finer tillage performance. It provides excellent ground following capabilities with 150 lbs of trip pressure, which can be adjusted up to 198 lbs for slightly deeper penetration.
The double spring option is a better choice for tougher ground conditions or deeper tillage needs. It offers a pre-set downforce of 300 lbs, which can be adjusted up to 400 lbs. The extra down pressure ensures better penetration in hard-packed soil and is often used behind the tractor wheel tracks to remove compaction.

The open design of the caster gauge wheels on the Wil-Rich XL2 helps prevent them from negatively affecting tillage performance. As a result, operators experience minimized plugging with greater stability both in the field and on the road. Additionally, they offer easy maintenance, allowing more time to be spent in the field.
Need to adjust the tillage depth on the fly? Single-point depth control allows operators to adjust the working depth for the entire implement from a single location, instead of having to make manual adjustments at each gauge wheel.
Four finishing attachment options are available to suit various field conditions and personal preferences. Each option provides distinct advantages in creating the ideal seedbed.
XL2 models are equipped with the field-proven, time-tested level lift hitch, which transfers weight to the tractor. Designed for level field conditions, this hitch creates a planter-ready seedbed.
The primary difference between the QX2 and XL2 models is the hitch type. QX2 models are equipped with a floating hitch, ensuring precise depth control on uneven terrain.
The five ranks of shanks offer an effective spacing of 7 in. This configuration results in consistent tillage across the width of the machine for incorporating fertilizer or herbicides, removing weeds, preparing a seedbed, or all of the above.
Finishing attachments level the soil profile and create a planter-ready seedbed. Four types of attachments are available to meet the needs of various operations and soil conditions.
