The Tempo R 12-18 is a rigid, mounted high-speed planter available with 12 or 18 row units and optional granular fertilizer system. With easily adjustable row spacing, it is possible to plant numerous crops with the same unit for maximum versatility. The three-point linkage provides excellent maneuverability on tight headlands. Additionally, the rigid frame benefits from fewer moving parts, minimal weight and reduced maintenance without compromising excellent precision.
The Väderstad Tempo is a new generation high-speed planter, delivering unmatched precision at double the speed of traditional planters. No-till, min-till or conventional tillage – the Tempo performs exceptionally well in all conditions. It gives your crop the best start possible with even emergence.
The Tempo R frame allows easy setup of numerous row spacings and number of row units, including odd numbers.
The row spacing on the 18-row Tempo R 18 can be set as narrow as 17.7", while the 12-row model can be configured between 27.6" to 31.5". This results in more acres per season and consequently lowered costs.
Equipped with optional transport wheels and drawbar, the Tempo R 12 and Tempo R 18 can be easily transported between fields.
Despite the wide working width, this feature reduces transport width to less than 10 feet.
The FH 2200 front-mounted granular fertilizer hopper enables precision application.
The 62.4-bushel hopper is equipped with an electric Fenix III metering system, built for high capacity and high working speeds in the field. The FH 2200 integrates with the iPad-based control system Väderstad E-Control or the ISOBUS terminal of the tractor.
The iPad-based control system, Väderstad E-Control, wirelessly delivers data about each seed that travels through the planter, including seeding quality, skips, doubles, spacing and rate.
You benefit from user-friendly remote setup and calibration, as well as easy, real-time monitoring and control.
Through the iPad, you can download the most recent software updates, allowing your system to always stay current with future developments.
The Tempo is able to band fertilizer using the FH 2200 front hopper. The fertilizer coulters maintain a high level of precision even at high speeds.
Fertilizer kit
The hopper is safe and easy to access with a platform, and a large opening improves filling time, while reducing downtime in the field. The fertilizer opening coulters are spring-loaded and can apply up to 330.7 pounds of downforce, which is sufficient for planting into no-till conditions. Fertilizer can be placed according to your needs, both sideways and depth wise. The gauge wheel on the fertilizer coulter has two tasks - to control the depth and to reduce the amount of soil thrown from the coulter.
Row cleaners are optional on the Tempo. They're used to remove crop residue, clods and rocks ahead of the disc openers. The need to use row cleaners is much higher when planting into no-till conditions or other fields with large amounts of residue.
Floating row cleaners
Each row cleaner is mounted on a parallel linkage, allowing it to precisely follow the field surface. The aggressiveness is easily adjusted with a spring, which makes it possible to either add or relieve pressure from the row cleaner. The row cleaner is fitted with a self-cleaning rubber wheel, which controls the depth of the high-quality spiked row cleaner disc. With optimized working angles, the floating row cleaners are designed to perfectly match the capacity and precision of the Tempo.
With the Tempo, planting can be done at very high speeds without compromising precision and accuracy. The seed meters ensure perfect placement for every seed, which is key to maximizing yield.
0.6-inch seed system
The 0.6-inch seed system comes standard. It is optimized for seeds less than 0.6 inches in diameter.
0.9-inch seed system
When planting large seeds over 0.6 inches diameter, you can equip the Tempo with a 0.9-inch seed system instead of the standard 0.6 inch.
Micro granulate kit
The micro granulate hopper holds 0.5 bushels to match the capacity of the seed hopper. The boxes are used for starter fertilizer or pesticides. The micro granulate can be placed either in the seed furrow or on the surface.
Small seeds kit
The small seeds kit for the Väderstad Tempo improves results when planting small-seeded crops, such as canola or sugarbeets. Planting a small-seeded crop at shallow planting depth requires the planter to be very gentle to the seed. After the seed is planted, the closing wheels cover the seed trench, creating perfect conditions for germination. Several industry-standard, third-party closing wheel solutions can also be used, depending on the needs of each farm.
Spiked closing wheel
A spiked closing wheel is often used when no-till planting. This closing wheel is also a good option when planting in heavy clay soils.
Narrow closing wheel 1"
The job of the closing wheel is to close the seed furrow. The force on the closing wheels can easily be adjusted, and it is also possible to set the closing wheels offset.
Wide closing wheel 2"
The wide closing wheel is often used when planting very shallow. This closing wheel can also be used in conventional planting when planting corn and sunflowers.
Treaded closing wheel 2"
By reducing the risk for crusting, the treaded closing wheel optimizes the conditions for shallow planted seeds, such as sugarbeets and canola
