The Tempo L is a trailed high-speed planter with high capacity. It's available with 8, 10, 12, 16, 18 or 24 row units. The Tempo L doubles the capacity of a traditional planter and, more importantly, the crop is established with higher precision. It sets a new standard for high-capacity planting.
The Väderstad Tempo is a new generation high-speed planter, delivering unmatched precision at double the speed of traditional planters. No-till, min-till or conventional tillage – the Tempo performs exceptionally well in all conditions. It gives your crop the best start possible with even emergence.
Depending on the model, the Tempo L can be equipped with either an 85- or 142-bushel hopper. Granular fertilizer is metered through the high-capacity Fenix III metering system, which is capable of rates up to 312 pounds per acre at 9.3 mph.
The electric driven Fenix III has variable rate capabilities, and the high-capacity fertilizer system maintains high precision even at high speeds.

The Tempo L is equipped with hydraulic wing pressure, which transfers weight from the inner section of the planter to the outer wings.
This allows the Tempo L to respond to any irregularities in the field and ensure even emergence.

To ensure the transport wheels follow the row spacing, the Tempo L is equipped with a telescoping wheel axle, which can be easily adjusted from the cab. So whatever the row spacing, the transport wheels can be adjusted to always run between the seed rows. The wheel axles are easily set to a 9.8-foot width for transport.
As a new option, the high-speed planter Väderstad Tempo L 8-24 can be equipped with a liquid fertilizer system. The system is fully integrated in the machine, built for the high-speed precision planting that Väderstad Tempo is known for.
Despite its large capacity, the Tempo L folds to a transport width of only 9.8 feet.
The iPad-based control system, Väderstad E-Control, wirelessly delivers data about each seed that travels through the planter, including seeding quality, skips, doubles, spacing and rate.
You benefit from user-friendly remote setup and calibration, as well as easy, real-time monitoring and control.

Depending on the model, the Tempo L can be equipped with either an 85- or 142-bushel hopper, including the highly precise Fenix III system to meter out granular fertilizer. It is capable of rates up to 312.3 pounds per acre at 9.3 mph with the ability to do variable rate, thanks to an electric drive. The high-capacity fertilizer coulters maintain high precision even at high speeds.
Fertilizer kit
A platform makes hopper access safe and easy, and a large opening improves filling while reducing downtime in the field. The fertilizer coulters are spring-loaded with up to 330.7 pounds of downforce, which is sufficient for no-till applications. Fertilizer is placed 2 inches to the side and below the seed. Additionally, te gauge wheel on the fertilizer coulter has two tasks: to control the depth and to minimize the amount of soil thrown from the fertilizer coulter.
Row cleaners are optional on the Tempo. They're used to remove crop residue, clods and rocks ahead of the disc openers. The need to use row cleaners is much higher when planting into no-till conditions or other fields with large amounts of residue.
Floating row cleaners
Each row cleaner is mounted on a parallel linkage, allowing it to precisely follow the field surface. The aggressiveness is easily adjusted with a spring, which makes it possible to either add or relieve pressure from the row cleaner. The row cleaner is fitted with a self-cleaning rubber wheel, which controls the depth of the high-quality spiked row cleaner disc. With optimized working angles, the floating row cleaners are designed to perfectly match the capacity and precision of the Tempo.
With the Tempo, planting can be done at very high speeds without compromising precision and accuracy. The seed meters ensure perfect placement for every seed, which is key to maximizing yield.
0.6-inch seed system
The 0.6-inch seed system comes standard. It is optimized for seeds less than 0.6 inches in diameter.
0.9-inch seed system
When planting large seeds over 0.6 inches diameter, you can equip the Tempo with a 0.9-inch seed system instead of the standard 0.6 inch.
Small seeds kit
The small seeds kit for the Väderstad Tempo improves results when planting small-seeded crops, such as canola or sugarbeets. Planting a small-seeded crop at shallow planting depth requires the planter to be very gentle to the seed. After the seed is planted, the closing wheels cover the seed trench, creating perfect conditions for germination. Several industry-standard, third-party closing wheel solutions can also be used, depending on the needs of each farm.
Spiked closing wheel
A spiked closing wheel is often used when no-till planting. This closing wheel is also a good option when planting in heavy clay soils.
Narrow closing wheel 1"
The job of the closing wheel is to close the seed furrow. The force on the closing wheels can easily be adjusted, and it is also possible to set the closing wheels offset.
Wide closing wheel 2"
The wide closing wheel is often used when planting very shallow. This closing wheel can also be used in conventional planting when planting corn and sunflowers.
Treaded closing wheel 2"
By reducing the risk for crusting, the treaded closing wheel optimizes the conditions for shallow planted seeds, such as sugarbeets and canola
