Väderstad Components builds new production line to increase capacity

Väderstad, one of the world’s leading companies in tillage and seeding, expands the Väderstad Components facility in Överum, Sweden. Due to a continued increase in demand for genuine parts, a third disc production line will be built.

Väderstad Components is part of the global Väderstad Group, producing wear parts such as points, discs, rollers, and accessories for all products. To achieve the highest quality in Väderstad’s Genuine Parts the facility in Överum houses a unique materials technology lab, headed by metallurgist and materials scientist Anders Petersson.

Our Genuine Parts has a positive reputation among farmers all over the world, providing a great match to their Väderstad machines and excelling in performance and durability. This has led to an increase in demand for genuine parts, a development that we see will go on for the foreseeable future.

– In the next five years an estimated growth of 8% per year is expected for our Genuine Parts business. To handle growth and continue to deliver high-quality wear parts to farmers all over the world, the factory in Överum will be expanding with a third disc production line, says Dan Somlin, CEO for Väderstad Components.

The new disc line will provide additional capacity for future genuine parts. In the last couple of years Väderstad has made some major investments expanding its product portfolio, which greatly affected Components.

– We have made some major investments in the last couple of years, products that we expect a lot from in the coming years. Last year we acquired the inter-row cultivators from the Danish company Thyregod. From the summer of 2024 our new inter-row cultivators will be fully integrated into the Väderstad brand, which also means that we will produce wear parts and spare parts for the machines, says Henrik Gilstring, CEO of Väderstad Group.

Väderstad Components will have eight production lines at its Överum facility with the addition of a new disc production line. The new line at Väderstad Components is expected to be operational in 2025.
