Why spring washers are essential
Spring washers, mounted at the ends of the roller ring, absorb pressure and allow the roller to operate more smoothly. They also minimise wear on the roller rings by pressing the rings together, ensuring the forces are distributed across the ring package instead of the axle. This design effectively doubles the axle strength.
When replacing roller rings, it is often necessary to add or replace spring washers to maintain optimal performance.
Note: After each season, check that the wide rings (not the breaker rings) do not move independently. If they do, additional spring tension plates should be mounted.

By pressing the wide roller rings together, the forces are absorbed by the roller package instead of the axle. This shift from the axle to a wider, pipe-shaped structure effectively doubles the actual strength.
When the wide roller rings work as a segment, stones and clods are effectively pushed down or crushed.
