Crister Stark awarded Royal Medal for his innovative work in agriculture

Crister Stark, part of Väderstad’s owner family and Innovation Manager at the company, is awarded the gold medal by The Royal Forest and Agricultural academy in Sweden, KSLA. His father, Väderstads’ founder Rune Stark, was also awarded a prize from KSLA back in 1993.

Crister Stark is awarded the gold medal which is given annually to people that made “an outstanding work in the academy’s field of interest”. Here is the motivation from the jury:

"For his visionary work and efforts to simplify the life of the farmer by developing agricultural machinery that significantly improves agricultural conditions. The innovative and modern machines have contributed to a changed view of soil cultivation and seed drilling, for the benefit of farmers all around the world.”

– It is with great gratitude that I receive this medal, I have always been strongly motivated by improving agricultural practices and creating new solutions for farmers. It also gives good business opportunities and continuous development of the company, says Crister Stark in a comment.

Cristers father, Väderstad’s founder Rune Stark, was also awarded a prize from the Royal Forest and Agricultural Academy back in 1993. He then received the AW Bergsten award for “successful work with construction and development of mechanical equipment for rational agricultural operations both within and outside Sweden”.

Crister Stark will be receiving his gold medal during a ceremony at Stockholm City Hall on January 28 2022. It will be presented by HM King Carl XVI Gustaf during a gathering where 11 awards in total will be presented to prominent people in the industry.
