Every year, the Swedish Agricultural Engineering Association (JTF) awards a prize for outstanding achievements in technological development within Swedish agriculture. This year’s winner is Väderstad-Verken.

“Väderstad-Verken has just reached its 50th birthday and has developed into an international leader in its genre. The company has worked systematically on the development of new products, often in consultation with researchers. Through its presence on the Swedish market, Väderstad-Verken has met the needs of Swedish farmers for technology in a praiseworthy way”.
“Since the Silver Share is awarded for outstanding achievements in technological development within Swedish agriculture, we naturally feel very honoured. The whole driving force behind Väderstad-Verken is to create flexible machines for soil tillage and sowing that do an excellent job irrespective of the crop production system used. We continuously invest in research and development in order to create innovative products that lighten the daily workload of farmers. Receiving a prize such as this puts a silver gloss to our work, to our enormous delight” said Christina Stark, Managing Director at Väderstad.
The prize was handed over by JTF chairman Axel Lagerfelt on a personal visit to Väderstad-Verken.
“It is my pleasure to hand over this prize. They have a very innovative way of looking at technological development in areas such as seed drilling, and that has resulted in many successful machines, such as Rapid and Seed Hawk. Their latest machine, Tempo F for drilling maize, has huge potential to become one of their most successful ever. If it becomes a bestseller, it will be as great a success as everything they have done to date, because maize is such a large crop world-wide”, said Axel Lagerfelt, chairman of JTF.
