Powerful and responsive - 3-4 metre tine cultivator

A very powerful and spacious frame construction, excellent mixing abilities and a large, free-running packer give the 3-4m tine cultivator Cultus 300-400 fantastically good soil cultivating ability, irrespective of soil type. The powerful Cobra tines can work down to 30cm, and the working depth can easily be adjusted from the cab, which is an advantage in variable conditions.

The highly versatile Cultus

Cultus can be delivered in three basic versions, customised for a range of field conditions. Depending on the need for reconsolidation and weight distribution, Cultus can be delivered as a mounted machine with or without a hydraulic packer, as well as a trailed option with a rubber packer, the RubberRunner.

Designed for high throughflow

The tine cultivators Cultus 300, 350 and 400 have three axles. These strong axles are positioned 80 cm apart and the distance between the tines on each axle is 90 cm, giving a 30 cm tine spacing. Together with the high clearance, this gives maximum throughflow. The tine distribution results in very good mixing of harvest trash, while avoiding the compromises involved in using wing points for complete slicing.

Double springs give better depth control

The stable and gap-free and maintenance-free tine fitting is a Väderstad solution based around a sleeve with conical ends, against which two concave sleeves are tightened with a bolt. The double springs on the tines give better depth control and extend the life, since the vibrations from the two springs cancel each other out. The horizontal positioning of the spring unit increases the ability of the tine to absorb strong impacts without deformation, a great advantage on stony soils.
The tines are tested both in test rigs and on actual farms before being released onto the market.

MixIn shin doubles the cultivation effect

The point breaks up soil and with the help of the tine shape and curve, this flow of soil is directed up along the tine and then along the MixIn shin until it breaks up in a cascade of finely distributed soil and trash. This is mixed again when it lands, as the tine reaches it and throws it up once more. This means that a single pass with Cultus actually has a double cultivation effect.
For Cultus, a very wide range of shins and points are available to satisfy widely varying cultivation requirements.

Working depth adjustable from the cab

Cultus works down to 30 cm, but the machine also works very well in shallow cultivation. The working depth is controlled hydraulically from the cab, which makes Cultus a flexible precision cultivator on varying soil types. The bottom position is marked by clips on the machine.

Rotating levellers

Rotating levelling discs with maintenance-free bearings leave an even surface.

Flexible choice of packer

The trailed models are transported on the packer, so RubberRunner is supplied as standard with these. RubberRunner gives good reconsolidation and an even surface. It also gives the machine a smooth and stable passage.

For the hydraulically carried models, CageRunner 600 mm, single SteelRunner 550 mm, single SoilRunner 575 mm and RubberRunner 586 mm are available as options.

Turn Cultus into a seed drill

BioDrill 180 and 250 are designed to be installed on the smaller trailed Cultus models.
The efficient cultivation action of Cultus mixes in harvest trash and creates a fine finish, which provides good conditions for sowing oilseed rape and other small-seeded crops. With BioDrill, all this can be done in one pass. The seeds are released in front of the packer and well covered during rolling. Cultus leaves a smooth, fine surface in which the seeds can germinate in a seedbed that saves soil moisture.

Cultus concept zones

1. Cultivation

The Cultus tine has been designed without compromises when it comes to mixing and long lifetime. Equipped with the MixIn shin it will turn all the material two times which gives not only a superior material mixing but also an excellent levelling effect. Working depth is down to 30 cm.
Welded frame attachments ensures that the tine does not move sideways. The tines are mounted on three rows with a 30 cm tine distance, due to this no problem with straw lines appears as common on the two axle cultivators. It works intensive down to 30 cm working depth, the low angle of impact ensures that the clods are kept small.
Väderstad offers a unique selection of points and shins for the cultivator range. The modular division into point, shin and wing shares allows a great number of work combinations.
The 450 kg stone release force ensures perfect depth keeping. The double spring suspension has a heavy duty fastening made for demanding conditions.

2. Levelling

The levellers on Cultus level out any furrows left by the final row of tines. The option disc levellers are mounted on rubber suspensions. This ensures good contouring also in heavy soils paired with high stone tolerance.

3. Reconsolidation

A good reconsolidation is the key to getting volunteer seeds to germinate. It also helps preserving moisture in the soil and restore the capillarity.

Single SteelRunner
The SteelRunner with its aggressive profile is an active part of the cultivation and a good choice when more aggressive reconsolidation is required, for example on heavier and stony soils. The pending scrapers keeps it clean also in wet conditions.

The 586 mm diameter RubberRunner gives good reconsolidation. The lower profile depth makes it fit well on light to medium heavy conditions. The packer has a very high wear resistance.

CageRunner (CS 300-350)
The CageRunner provides good reconsolidation in combination with good depth keeping. The large 550 mm diameter of the caged packer gives it good performance on light to medium heavy soils.
