"We are extremely grateful to receive the Lovang Prize. We have been working together with farmers in Östergötland for 50 years and have always found this to be stimulating and successful", said Crister Stark, Chairman of the Board at Väderstad-Verken.
Agricultural consultant Torbjörn Lovang from Östergötland started the advisory company Lovang Group at the end of the 1970s. The ambition was to integrate advisory work on crop production with agricultural economics, engineering and marketing.
"We have always have a very good working relationship. Torbjörn Lovang was involved when we developed the Rapid concept in the early 1990s. I remember many discussions about machinery and method development. We hope to work together [with Lovang Lantbrukskonsult!!!!!] in future on Strip-Tillage", said Crister Stark.
When Torbjörn passed away, the Torbjörn Lovang Memorial Fund was set up on the initiative of family and employees. It awards annual prizes to people who, following the spirit of Torbjörn, are providing or have contributed outstanding services to agriculture.
"We want to encourage engagement in farming and in individuals who are driving agriculture forward in the same way Torbjörn Lovang once did", said Ulrik Lovang, Managing Director and Arable Advisor at Lovang Lantbrukskonsult.
