New Carrier XL 725 and CrossCutter Disc Aggressive

Väderstad, one of the world’s leading companies in tillage, drilling, and planting, welcomes the new 7.25-metre-wide Carrier XL 725 into the Carrier XL range of disc cultivators. We also announce the addition of the CrossCutter Disc Aggressive to extend the offer for ultra-shallow tillage.

The new Carrier XL 725 is a welcome addition to the Carrier XL range of disc cultivators, spanning from 4.25 to 12.25m working width.

- Carrier XL is a well known machine concept, and the addition of the new Carrier XL 725 will suit well into the market. The versatility Carrier XL brings to the farm saves passes, decreases machine cost per hectare, and provides the best start possible for the coming crop, says Wolfram Hastolz, Director of Tillage Product Management, at Väderstad.

Carrier XL 725 is available with 510mm TrueCut discs, CrossCutter Disc, or the new CrossCutter Disc Aggressive. To suit different farming needs, it can be equipped with a full range of front tools, packer options as well as the small seeder BioDrill 360.

In addition to the new model, the Carrier XL 425-725 family is updated with frame enhancements, including strengthened packer parallel linkage. To guide the operator, all models are now fitted with new visible scales for both the working depth and the front tool depth. In addition, the new Carrier XL 725 also comes with a new and unique transport height position scale for safe road transport.

The wider models, Carrier XL 625 and Carrier XL 725 can now also be equipped with a new wheel axle as well as 560/45 R22.5 wheels, approved for 40km/h road transport.

Carrier XL 725 is available to order from October 2022, and the deliveries will start in the spring of 2023.

Väderstad also introduces the CrossCutter Disc Aggressive, which extends the CrossCutter Disc range even further. The difference to the ordinary CrossCutter Disc is that the new CrossCutter Disc Aggressive has sharpened TrueCut cutouts, providing higher penetration capability in challenging field conditions.

- The CrossCutter Disc Aggressive is an interesting choice on heavy land or where penetration ability can otherwise be an issue. A further benefit of the CrossCutter Disc Aggressive is that it will act more aggressively in heavy residues such as silage maize, heavy oilseed rape stalks, or sunflower stubble. This helps to speed up the decomposition, says Magnus Samuelsson, Concept Developer, at Väderstad, and continues:

– With the CrossCutter Disc Aggressive our line of discs for ultra-shallow tillage is complete. Even though it has a more aggressive shape than the original, it still operates at ultra-shallow working depths of 2-5 cm and will move substantially less soil than a conventional disc. This means less fuel

used while maintaining a high working speed and still providing intensive mixing, says Magnus Samuelsson.

The CrossCutter Disc Aggressive comes in two sizes: 450mm intended for a working depth of 2-3cm with the Carrier range of disc cultivators, as well as 510mm for a working depth of 3-5cm with Carrier XL. Both can be operated at working speeds of up to 20km/h.

– Just like the original CrossCutter Disc, the CrossCutter Disc Aggressive can be fitted to our versatile disc cultivator Carrier. Since each CrossCutter Disc is individually mounted to its own rubber-suspended disc arm it follows the ground contour, ensuring very even results, says Magnus Samuelsson.

The new CrossCutter Disc Aggressive will be available from November 2022.
