Gold medal for Väderstad’s SeedEye system at Agrosalon

SeedEye is Väderstad’s unique seed countering and monitoring system. Optical sensors installed in each seed tube register every seed that is metered through, so that drilling can be controlled down to the exact number of seeds per square meter. SeedEye blockage monitoring detects if a seed tube has been blocked for any reason and gives an immediate warning so that the farmer can fix the blockage immediately. It also gives a warning when the hopper has run out of seeds.
– SeedEye is yet another area where Väderstad is pushing agriculture forwards with innovation. It plays really well into precision farming, by being able to set the number of seeds per area unit. This truly is advancing the accuracy in seed drills, and the more accurate you are as a farmer – the greater chance of optimizing the result, says Björn Jeansson, Commercial Product Manager for seed drills, at Väderstad.
Väderstad’s Russian team will receive the award on October 7th, during the ongoing tradeshow Agrosalon in Moscow. In total there were 47 agricultural developments presented for the international jury, who then voted according to strict criterias about innovation, economical benefits, increased efficiency, safety and environmental improvement.
– Väderstad seed drills have deservedly gained popularity among Russian farmers, for us as a company it’s important to keep improving the accuracy and efficiency and our SeedEye system is a big step in this direction, says Evgeny Zhilkin.
From model year 2021, the following machines can be equipped with Seed Eye seed counting and blockage monitoring: Spirit 600-900S, Rapid A 600-800C/J and Rapid A400-800S.
The Spirit 600-900C, Spirit R 300S and Spirit 400C/S come with SeedEye blockage monitoring only, also as an option.
